Good Doctor, Bad Father

With these three words, “My father died,” Milejenko Jergović, an internationally recognised Croat writer and essayist, starts his recent novel, simply entitled Ojciec (Father). A story of his father, one might have thought; or lack thereof, as we find out from reading the book.
