For over twenty years, the International Cultural Centre has been conducting a dialogue on and in support of cultural heritage of Central and Eastern Europe. For many years, Ukraine has been among the ICC’s most important partner. Ukrainian scholars and experts have participated in conferences organised by the ICC, regularly contributed to our books and “Herito” quarterly, joined our research projects. The Centre boasts an extended network of academic partnerships many of which have been made due to the Thesaurus Poloniae* fellows from Ukraine.
Implemented by the ICC, the fellowship programme of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland has attracted considerable interest of Ukrainian researchers. Until today, 10 scholars from Ukraine have been awarded the Thesaurus Poloniae fellowship. The fellowship enables participants to carry out their research projects – next to financial support, the fellows are provided with considerable organisational and content-related help.
Within the framework of the Spring 2014 call for applications, the ICC has decided to sponsor an additional fellowship (i.e. aside from scheduled fellowships granted within the call) for a young researcher from Ukraine (Junior Programme).
Thesaurus Poloniae* is a three-month-long fellowship programme of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland which has been implemented by the International Cultural Centre in Krakow since the autumn of 2009. The programme is addressed to non-residents of Poland who conduct their research on culture, history and multicultural heritage of the Republic of Poland as well as Central Europe. Experts in management and preservation of cultural heritage as well as researchers in the fields of history, sociology, ethnography, anthropology, etc. are invited to submit their applications. Thesaurus Poloniae Fellowship is awarded in two categories:
Senior Programme addressed to university professors and senior lecturers (PhD holders) and Junior Programme addressed to PhD candidates. So far, 49 scholars from 25 countries have participated in 9 editions of the programme.
