Nobody’s drone

Romania finds itself operating in a sea increasingly crowded with expendable unmanned systems from both sides of the war. Those that drift into Romanian waters often do so because something has already gone wrong: navigation has failed, communications have been lost, electronic warfare has disrupted control, or the original mission has ended without rendering the weapon harmless. With an unmarked drone, the physical threat may be obvious while responsibility remains contested. That ambiguity and the time it takes to resolve can be politically useful.
