JOSHUA EVANGELISTA: Can you share with us what is happening now in Serbia? How did the student movement become something more than a protest movement?
VLADAN ĐOKIĆ: It began as a student protest, but it has now become a movement involving the society as a whole, with strong support from other citizens. Students have met older people across the country, both in cities and in small villages. They have spoken to them and explained what they are fighting for. It is now a joint movement of students and citizens. What the people of Serbia are asking for is very simple: democracy, the rule of law and equality for everyone. That is how the movement has grown across the country.
