Media without a choice
A new proposal to impose a tax on media advertising revenue aims to seriously harm independent and free press in Poland and minimize media pluralism in the country.

In response to the proposal, an unprecedented protest of independent media is taking place, with outlets publishing black screens with the phrase “Media without a choice” (Media bez wyboru).
We, the editors and publishers, have always advocated for freedom of speech and a free press in Central and Eastern Europe whose aim is to hold those in power accountable for their policies and actions.
We express our solidarity with all media in Poland.
