Ukraine: March of Millions – Photo-report
December 9, 2013 - New Eastern Europe - EuroMaidan
December 8th 2013 was called the "March of Millions" in Kyiv in conjunction with the ongoing “Euromaidan” protests. Estimates put the total number of marchers at around 500,000.
The protests included the toppling of Lenin statue in Kyiv at Bessarabia Square.
For the most part, the protests were peaceful and included a festive atmosphere, despite the heavy police presence.
Below are some photos from the protests in Kyiv.
The protests continue despite some fears that the use of force will be used again to break up the protesters.
