The NGOmap contest for local initiatives in Eastern Partnership countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine.
The task for the contestants is to post online information about a local problem along with unique ideas on how to solve it. The best ideas will be selected by voting. That is why, groups who are small or with limited budgets should not be worried. It is enough to put the information about their plans, and get the largest amount of votes online, and win a ticket to their implementation.
The main prize is participation in a study tour in Warsaw which will take place in October 2012. From each country one initiative will be selected which with the largest amount of votes online.
In Warsaw representatives of these initiatives will meet with the Contest Board, a panel of international experts who, together with contest participants, will prepare the plan for the implementation of the project. During the visit the participants will also be meeting with specialists from the Polish Ministry of Regional Development and representatives of Polish NGOs. The winners will also take part in a lecture on how to promote their initiatives given by PR specialists.
“We don’t have money for the winners, but we believe that by providing a fishing rod is better than a fish. That is why, we are offering the opportunity to meet with the experts, gaining valuable knowledge and building international contacts’ networks,” says Łukasz Grajewski, the contest coordinator.
The ideas for the project must be delivered by September 16th 2012. Voting will take place between September 17th and 30th. The winners will be announced on October 1st.
